What are the initial requirements for a licensed Security / Fire Alarm Installer?

There is no State licensing of Alarm Installers.
 

A Fire Alarm Installer applicant must submit a completed application to the Vermont Department of Public Safety, Division of Fire Safety, Office of the State Fire Marshal, State Fire Academy and State Haz-Mat Team, including:

- a Certification of Fitness (TQP) required for all individuals inspecting and testing fire alarm and detection systems and equipment

- Applicants Statement regarding: Child Support, Taxes, Unemployment Compensation, Fines and Penalties

- Certification as needed

What are the educational requirements of the State?

A Master Electrician, Journeyman Electrician or G7(c) Type S Journeyman Electrician for fire alarm systems is required to complete eight (8) hours of related instruction during the previous three (3) years.

 

All other licenses are separated by Certification.
