State Certification for the installation of VSS/CCTV systems in Alabama, Louisiana and Tennessee.
All states: Provides the basic knowledge, skills, and techniques needed to participate in the growing field of video surveillance system installation, with coverage of every aspect of the process, including site survey, equipment selection, installation, and troubleshooting.

Cirriculum Summary:
This 17-hour course (15 hours of coursework with a 2 hour final exam) is designed for the educational purposes of all alarm and security technicians, salespeople, and managers engaging in the field of CCTV, or video surveillance. All content will focus on basic education of the fundamentals needed for all students to understand video surveillance and CCTV technology.
Learning Objectives:

Students will be guided through various topics concerning CCTV system design and engineering, including the functional requirements of a video surveillance or CCTV system.

Participants will learn the basics of system design to FBI specifications

Participants will learn how to maintain systems to meet the needs of law enforcement for evidence retrieval

Technologies such as VCRs will be discussed in addition to more current and widely used storage devices such as DVRs and NVRs

Students must understand which cameras are most appropriate for varying situations

Technicians and operators should be able to easily utilize equipment

Upon completing the lessons the student should know how to deal with installation, wiring, and their own legal parameters

Students should come away from the course ready to deal with cameras in the real world

Functionality (Online):

Each group of topics will be divided into 13 modules ranging from 1 hour to 2 hours for a total of 15 classroom equivalent hours.

All progress and results are tracked in real-time offering immediate interaction with the student, as well as the ability for the student to log off and log back on where they left off.

Throughout the course modules the student must answer knowledge checks.
For Louisiana, Alabama, Tennessee only:

After all 15 hours of course material have been completed a voucher will be sent via email to the student. NOTE: This will be needed along with a picture ID in order to take the proctored one hour final exam.

The student will then schedule the proctored final exam and take their exam with a national testing company, PSI. Click here to search for the nearest testing center. NOTE: Upon immediate completion of the final exam the student and Elite CEU are notified of the score.

Once the final exam is passed with a 70% or better Elite CEU will be notified and a certificate of completion will be processed and mailed directly to the student by the next business day. NOTE: If a student fails to pass they must reschedule with PSI and pay a $45 retesting fee in order to retake the final exam.
