This brand new seven hour course is designed to replace the existing requirements for all technicians in Texas who install and/or maintain smoke and heat detectors in residential construction. No longer do you have to take a two day prep course and a State sponsored final exam to obtain this license. Elite CEU worked directly with the Texas Fire Marshal's office in developing this affordable and educational solution! This course can be taken through our website online with a one hour proctored exam, or in a one-day class with one of our qualified and experienced NICET Level 3 instructors.

Curriculum/Summary:

This seven hour course is designed to teach all new and existing residential fire alarm technicians in the state of Texas the required curriculum as outlined in the Texas Insurance Code Chapter 6002. This course can be taken to meet the requirements for obtaining a residential fire alarm technician license in Texas. The material is designed to offer specific code related information from the NEC (NFPA 70), National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code (NFPA 72), Life Safety Codes (NFPA 101), International Residential Codes, as well as the State of Texas Fire Alarm rules.

Functionality (Online):

• Each group of topics will be divided into 4 modules ranging from 1 hour to 4 hours for a total of 7 classroom equivalent hours. NOTE: Course modules will be delivered through SCORM standard LMS (Learning Management System) compliant software. Our courses utilize the Articulate® e-learning platform.
• All progress and results are tracked in real-time offering immediate interaction with the student, as well as the ability for the student to log off and log back on where they left off.
• Throughout the course modules the student must answer knowledge checks.
• After all 7 hours of course material have been completed a voucher will be sent via email to the student. NOTE: This will be needed along with a picture ID in order to take the proctored one hour final exam.
• The student will then schedule the proctored 30 question final exam and take their exam with a national testing company, PSI.Click here to search for the nearest testing center. NOTE: Upon immediate completion of the final exam the student and Elite CEU are notified of the score.
• Once the final exam is passed with a 80% or better Elite CEU will be notified and a certificate of completion will be processed and mailed directly to the student by the next business day. NOTE: If a student fails to pass they must reschedule with PSI and pay a $45 retesting fee in order to retake the final exam.
• NOTE: You will need to send in the certificate of completion along with your application to the Texas Fire Marshal's office.

Functionality (Classroom):

• You can schedule to have this course taught live in a classroom setting on site anywhere in the country!
• After the 7 hour course is taught the final exam is given in the class and a certificate is generated.
