Security professionals throughout the country are required to take an Alarm Level I (or equivalent) course prior to being licensed by the State. The majority of these certification courses are available only through a traditional classroom setting for two to three days at a time. This creates a huge problem for the majority of licensees due to logistical, monetary reasons, and time constraints. Elite CEU is proud to offer a State approved Alarm Level I training course in a convenient yet educational online platform. All approved courses, curriculum, and testing will be offered through a self-paced web-based training platform. Since this will allow everyone to access these courses anytime - and anywhere - all required licensees will now have the opportunity to meet their mandatory requirements in a more timely and economical fashion.

Topics Covered
Topics covered include, but are not limited to: fundamental concepts of the security industry, alarm system functions, perimeter and interior detection, output devices, installation of burglar alarm components, maintenance and repair procedures, working knowledge of fire and fire safety, false alarm prevention, industry codes and standards, fire alarm systems, OSHA standards, workplace safety, electrical concepts, wiring techniques, electrical circuits, relevant NEC Codes, electrical safety, types and proper use of tools, CCTV design, video compression, basic networking, system planning, access control, communication and wiring options, power supplies, troubleshooting, off-premises reporting, documentation, inspection, testing, ethical standards, proper conduct, and basic customer service.
Functionality:
Each group of topics will be divided into modules ranging from 1 to 2 hours.
NOTE: Course modules will be delivered through SCORM standard LMS (Learning Management System) compliant software.
-
All progress and results are tracked in real-time offering immediate interaction with the student, as well as the ability for the student to log off and log back on where they left off.
-
Throughout the course modules the student must answer knowledge checks.
-
After all course modules have been completed a voucher will be sent via email to the student.
NOTE: This will be needed along with a picture ID in order to take the proctored final exam.
-
The student will then schedule the proctored final exam and take their exam with a national testing company, PSI. Click here to search for the nearest testing center. NOTE: Upon immediate completion of the final exam the student and Elite CEU are notified of the score.
-
Once the final exam is passed with a 70% or better Elite CEU will be notified and a certificate of completion will be processed and mailed directly to the student by the next business day. NOTE: If a student fails to pass they must reschedule with PSI and pay a $45 retesting fee in order to retake the final exam.
